Job Description

Regional Director Human Resources
The Howard Hughes name is synonymous with entrepreneurial vision, tenacity and a pioneering spirit—values still embodied by The Howard Hughes Corporation today. While Hughes’ passion for aviation and the silver screen are legendary, it was his investment in real estate that forms the bedrock of the company.  At the core of our DNA, we believe we can Make Life Extraordinary.  We strive to embody these same qualities with every individual our company touches, from stakeholders to partners, from consumer to shareholder.
We believe in “Thinking Big” at The Howard Hughes Corporation.   We demand excellence and an unrelenting dedication to success.  Our mission is to be the pre-eminent developer and operator of master planned communities and mixed-use properties in the United States.  We create timeless places and memorable experiences that inspire people while driving sustainable, long-term growth and value. We create environments where people want to live, work, shop, dine and play from coast to coast.
We are currently recruiting for a Director of Human Resources for our growing Honolulu office.  This individual would be responsible for administering corporate HR functions and helping revitalize Ward Village.
Ward Village ( is a unique operating property that is in the process of being redeveloped to become one of the world’s most exciting master plan developments. Located on the south shore of Oahu between downtown Honolulu and Waikiki, Ward Village is now beginning its transformation from a shopping district to an urban master planned community.  The Howard Hughes Corporation has an approved master plan that allows us to redevelop Ward Village with up to 9.3 million square feet including approximately 4,300 condominium units and over 1 million square feet of shops and restaurants.  In order to manage the redevelopment efforts, we have repurposed and improved the iconic IBM building on Ala Moana Boulevard into our management office, community information center, and sales galleries for multiple projects selling simultaneously.
Since launching sales in February 2014 on the first 500 residences at Ward Village, we have commenced construction on two luxury residential towers and are over 80% sold out.  In July 2015, we launched sales on two new projects designed by world famous architects Richard Meier & Partners and Bohlin Cywinski Jackson.  These projects will bring nearly 600 additional residences to the neighborhood along with Honolulu’s flagship Whole Foods Market.  In the coming years, we plan to construct 375 affordable housing units, a four acre park in the heart of the community, revitalize the adjacent Kewalo Harbor, which Ward Village manages under a long-term ground lease, and continue bringing unique and exciting retailers to the Ward Village community, making Ward Village the best new neighborhood in Honolulu, a gathering place for Hawaii, and the most dynamic neighborhood in the Pacific.
